Clayworx: Ceramic Arts Learning Centre aspires to give everyone access to exceptional educational, artistic and community-building experiences with clay and ceramic arts. They are a charitable arts organization offering clay programming to children and adults of all skill levels. They also have a membership stream for clay practitioners to create in studio, allowing for informal mentorship opportunities and meaningful connections within the London clay community.
Clayworx cares about reducing their climate impacts and is getting support to engage in more sustainable practices as a member of Green Economy London. They completed an audit, where they learned about the benefits of switching the 62 fluorescent lights on their second floor to LEDs. They applied for a Climate Action Microgrant to help them take action
Clayworx’s LED retrofit project is expected to reduce their energy bills and lower their carbon footprint.
The new lighting also makes for a brighter space, creating a more welcoming learning environment for students, visitors, members and a better working environment for staff
